Occam’s Razor (Song)

Here’s a song of mine about Eylene. Apparently, there are some arguments about how to spell Occam. I think the razor itself would determine that Occam is simpler than Ockham (it has fewer letters), so that’s what I’m going with.

Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man of Mine (George Gershwin Cover)

Here’s a little standard cover. I like this song, even if it doesn’t exactly make me come off as an epic heterosexual. But singing Gershwin is worth it. Masculinity be damned!

Generation of Failures (Song)

Here’s an original song of mine. It’s an imagined speech at a high school reunion. I used actual names of my high school friends, but entirely divorced from them as people. Sorry if I transformed you into an embarrassing fictional character. Just like the sound of your name is all.

NAMM 2008, covered for YouTube

So last year, I covered the NAMM show, which is a yearly trade show for music equipment. It’s closed to the public, but there are many tens of thousands people there. I was covering the show for NAMM, through YouTube. It was fun. Here’s the YouTube channel from which you can access all the videos [...]

Recording the EP (Video)

This is a video shot by myself, Eylene, and Seth, while I was recording the Decca/Universal EP (which you can get by clicking the link to the right). Further still photos can be found on my Facebook page, and maybe I’ll post them here later on. Good times.

Extraordinary Machine (Fiona Apple Cover) with Rubiks Cube

What a silly exercise this was, but a lot of fun. It took a few tries to get the timing right. Between looping, playing, singing, and pacing myself on the cube, it tested my multitasking ability to its limit. Also, Fiona Apple writes a mean little ditty.

Misanthrope (Song)

This is one of my favorite unrecorded songs. Again, we’re playing live at Genghis Cohen, with Alexandria Marino on violin and Giulio Carmassi on bass. The song was written for Maggie, though neither of us are really that misanthropic anymore. In fact, we often like people, sometimes for years at a time. Good for us!

Goddamn Little Slut (Song)

This is another song from CD #1 (iTunes, www.cdbaby.com/wallach). It’s about stealing the time in high school I borrowed my friend’s girlfriend. What a nightmare. Jaime, if you’re out there–what the hell? And sorry, D.

The Last Thing I Remember (Song)

This song was written for a contest I tried to host on YouTube. I was going to have people write songs on a theme/title each month. But nobody did it. So all that remains is this song I wrote for the first round. Sad, right?

Maikiko/Madana (Song)

Here’s an older song, which is on my first CD (iTunes, www.cdbaby.com/wallach). I wrote this on the piano in my apartment complex when I lived in Emeryville outside of San Francisco and wrote for ReadyMade Magazine. It’s about two girls, and they know who they are.
